In the dairy industry, boy goats are discarded and girls are usually kept so they can produce milk as soon as they are old enough to. Since Makeba has a disease she got from her Mom, she was viewed as worthless and discarded. Luckily we were able to save her and now she can live her life here at the ranch in peace. “Kiwi” as we affectionately call her, loves to sleep with the sheep herd, is the mother figure, and helps the new babies transition into the herd. She is truly an amazing soul.
If you would like to help care for Makeba you can make a donation or a monthly sponsorship. All the proceeds go towards the food and care of the animals.
