Faith Turned Four!!

Posted on October 20, 2020

Celebrating Faith: A Story of Resilience and Hope

On October 19, 2020, we joyously celebrated Faith’s 4th birthday! It’s hard to believe that it has been four years since Jen heroically rescued her from a harrowing fate at a slaughter auction, bringing her to the nurturing environment of Sale Ranch. Faith’s journey has been one of our most complex and inspiring medical cases.

Faith’s Early Struggles: A Harsh Reality

Let’s delve into Faith’s story. Born into the dairy industry, Faith was separated from her mother immediately after birth, an all-too-common practice in this sector. She was hastily left at a livestock auction, vulnerable and still covered in afterbirth. This industry, which had brought her into the world, also deemed her disposable, a fate shared by many calves in dairy. Newborns, lacking robust immune systems, face extreme risks in such environments, rife with deceased animals, waste, and rampant disease. Faith’s initial hours were marked by underdeveloped lungs and a barrage of illnesses, leading to a prolonged and severe fever and multiple bacterial infections that threatened her life daily.

A New Beginning: Faith’s Road to Recovery

Jen’s intervention was a turning point. Faith was tenderly carried to safety and spent her initial weeks in a sterilized setting within Jen’s home, receiving constant medical attention. The journey was fraught with challenges as Faith battled and overcame multiple life-threatening infections. Her survival and thriving are nothing short of miraculous. Today, Faith enjoys a life of love, joy, and companionship, far removed from her traumatic beginnings.

Faith Today: An Ambassador of Love and Truth

Faith’s impact extends beyond her own survival. She plays a crucial role in our sanctuary, aiding in the emotional support of visiting foster children and endearing herself to all our guests with her affectionate nature. She stands as a living testament to the harsh realities obscured by the dairy industry’s glossy marketing. Faith’s story is a powerful reminder of the resilience and dignity of the animals under our care at Sale Ranch Animal Sanctuary.

Happy Birthday, Faith!

Join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Faith. Happy 4th birthday to our beloved girl! Your presence enriches our lives immeasurably.
