Ellie’s Battle for Health: How You Can Help Her Thrive

Posted on September 6, 2024

At Sale Ranch Animal Sanctuary, every animal has a story. Some have known hardship, some have survived the unimaginable. But all of them come here to heal and to live the life they deserve. Ellie, a beloved Lamancha goat, is in the middle of that journey right now. She’s a survivor, but she’s also in the fight of her life—and she needs our help to win.

A Terrifying Start to Ellie’s Story

In 2021, Ellie and her daughter Annie faced an unthinkable danger. After a coyote attack claimed the life of their herd mate, the two were left vulnerable and alone. The coyotes circled, waiting for their next chance. Ellie was doing everything she could to protect her daughter, but they had nowhere safe to go. That’s when they found sanctuary at Sale Ranch. Here, they were finally safe, surrounded by love and kindness.

A New Life, But New Challenges

Though they escaped the physical danger, Ellie’s challenges didn’t end there. Since arriving at the ranch, Ellie has faced one medical issue after another. First, she needed surgery for an ovarian mass—a major operation that took months of recovery. Ellie fought bravely and came through it, but more health problems soon followed. She is now battling recurring infections and chronic weight loss. Her spirit is strong, but her body is struggling to keep up. She urgently needs ongoing medical care to help her fully recover.

The Heartbreak of Watching Ellie Struggle

Watching Ellie face these health battles has been heartbreaking. She’s a gentle, loving goat who just wants to live her days with her daughter Annie. She loves exploring the pasture, resting under the sun, and spending time with the other goats. But without the proper medical care, Ellie’s future is uncertain. She needs the right treatments, medications, and continued care to give her the best chance at recovery. And that’s something we can only provide with your help.

We Need Your Help to Give Ellie a Chance

Ellie has already overcome so much, and with the right medical care, we are hopeful she can fully recover. But we can’t do it alone. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. It helps us give Ellie the care she needs to get healthy and continue living her life at Sale Ranch. Your support ensures she can enjoy the peaceful, loving life that all animals deserve.

Ellie’s Journey Continues

Ellie’s story is far from over. With your help, she can continue her journey surrounded by her family and friends at Sale Ranch. Together, we can give her the love and care she needs to heal.
