Ingredients
  

  • 1 can young jackfruit in brine or water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 6 steamed bao buns
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Jackfruit: Drain and rinse the jackfruit. Shred it with a fork to create a pulled texture.
  • Cook the Jackfruit: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add jackfruit, smoked paprika, and liquid smoke. Cook for 5–7 minutes.
  • Make the Sauce: Mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and maple syrup. Pour over the jackfruit and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Prepare the Slaw: Toss shredded cabbage with rice vinegar and a pinch of salt.
  • Assemble the Sliders: Fill each bao bun with BBQ jackfruit and slaw. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve warm.
